January 7, 1933 - August 15, 2015 Born in Salt Lake City to Lee and Athelia Booth Pitchforth. Passed away in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Nancy graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in elementary education. She married Robert W. Patton Jr. on June 21, 1958 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple. Bob and Nancy moved to Van Nuys in 1960 where they raised their four children and lived for the next 26 years. Nancy taught school in Oregon, Utah and California. She also worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Van Nuys and later in Amarillo, Texas, prior to moving to Lake Oswego in 1994. Nancy lived a life of service, serving as a Cub Scout Den Leader, PTA President and Girl Scout Troop Leader, as well as in numerous positions in the LDS Church. She was also a proud member of Alpha Phi. Nancy enjoyed life and all adventures, was a great storyteller and had an incredible memory, prior to being afflicted with dementia. She singlehandedly kept the U.S. Postal Service in business for years with her postcard and letter writing. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, brother Lehi, and son Robert. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob of Lake Oswego, OR; her daughter-in-law, Kim, of Boca Raton, FL; daughter, Ellen, of Lexington, MA; son John (Robyn) of Granada Hills; and son Charles (Jennifer) of Sherwood, OR; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Interment was held in Nephi, Utah. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Nancy Pitchforth Patton Scholarship, Alpha Phi Foundation, 1930 Sherman Ave., Evanston, IL 60201.
