Naomi Elizabeth Brill Obituary
February 2, 1926 - January 23, 2016 Naomi Elizabeth Brill, nee Marcus, of Camarillo, CA, passed away on January 23rd, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Naomi packed three lifetimes into her 89 years; she supported many synagogues as well as Hadassah, the Jewish Federation, United Cerebral Palsy, and the Lupus Foundation. In 2014, she was the Jewish Federation's "Woman of Valor." Naomi traveled the world with her beloved late husband Richard Brill, and after his passing, with her dearest constant companion Max Heller. Naomi graduated from UC Berkeley and stayed involved with education throughout her life. Naomi's generous heart, welcoming spirit, and physical beauty enriched our world beyond measure. Her sherry wine cakes were cherished by all. When speaking became difficult she managed to exclaim, "Go out with a bang!"--and that's exactly what she did. Naomi leaves behind two daughters, Carol (Steve) Burton and Patrice (David) Ekstrom; stepsons Jeffrey (Yvonne) Brill, Martin (Bonnie) Brill, stepdaughter Ellen Brill; grandchildren Judd (Sara Malka), Rachel, Daniel, Justin (Kamila), Jenna (Todd), Matthew (Amy), Greg (Megan), Nick, Cassie (Will); great-grandchildren Caleb, Akiva, Mason, Max, Ryan, Gisele, Chase, Natalie, Zachary, Drew, Safi, Lucien; and niece Valerie Cooper, daughter of Naomi's sister, the late Vivian (Bert) Cooper. Services were held. Donations in her memory can be made to Temple Ner Ami of Camarillo, 515 Temple Ave., Camarillo, CA 93010.
