Nod I. Mulville Jr. Obituary
August 2, 1935 - November 26, 2015 Nod peacefully passed on Thursday morning at his home in Pacific Palisades. He was preceded by Patricia, his wife of 52 years, into the afterlife in February of 2014. He is survived by his children Ann and Daniel, and grandchildren Liam, Quinn, and Brynn. Nod was born Los Angeles, the son of Nod I. Mulville Sr. and May Morris Mulville. He lived his entire life in L.A., including 52 years in the Palisades. He was a proud graduate of Loyola High School (class of 1952), and earned his degree in business at USC. Nod worked over 50 years as an insurance agent and financial planner. He worked with countless families to provide financial security, and took great satisfaction when plans he had developed helped people in times of need. He was especially pleased about his work with the firefighters of L.A. County, many of whom he assisted with excellent disability insurance. Nod was distinguished by his sense of humor, generosity, and easy going nature. For example, he loved to start his day with a cup of coffee while reading the obituary section, which he unfailingly referred to as "the Irish sports pages." Nod had the gift of making friends, and it was rare if while dining out, he didn't run into somebody he knew. He also maintained a lifelong interest in Loyola Cub and USC Trojan football. Nod was a devout Roman Catholic and was very involved at Corpus Christi parish, including singing in the choir and long service in the Legion of Mary. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 3 at 10:30am at Corpus Christi Church in Pacific Palisades. Following mass, a reception and celebration of the wonderful man Nod was will be held. There will be an interment ceremony on Friday December 4. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either Loyola High School of Los Angeles, or Corpus Christi Parish.
