Norman G. Bernstein Obituary
June 18, 1933 - December 15, 2015 Devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Veteran, Musician, Educator, Mentor, and Friend, Norman was known for his gentle manner, kind blue eyes and endless generosity. Norman was an accomplished and classically trained musician, who used his talent not only to perform, but to teach the next generation. Norman served as an educator for more than 40 years in the LAUSD, retiring as an Elementary School Principal. His devotion to children and education continued in retirement in Ventura County, where he actively worked with youth as a Rotarian and mentor. Norman's legacy endures through the many programs he co-founded, most notably, "Step into Literacy." Norman is survived by his son, Craig Bernstein; daughter, Lisa Brant; brother, Donald Bernstein; and five grandchildren, Alexandra, Daniella, Jacquelyn, Claire and Maximilian. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 52 years, Alice Bernstein. Services to be held Sunday, December 20 - 11:30 a.m. - Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills.
