August 10, 1935 - August 5, 2015 Patricia Ann Levi Isaacs, 79, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family in her home in Del Mar, California, on August 5, 2015. She also served as president of the Parent Teachers Association at Beverly Hills High School and El Rodeo Elementary School. Her love of learning extended beyond the classroom and included working as a docent at the Gamble House in Pasadena, the William O. Douglas Outdoor Classroom in Beverly Hills and at the Scripps Aquarium in La Jolla. Her interest in the ocean and water sports was evident throughout her life. She met her husband of nearly 60 years, Dr. Hart Isaacs, Jr. while sailing in a dinghy in Catalina during her teens. After they were married, Patricia and Hart sailed often, on numerous sailboats in off-shore sailing regattas, where Patricia was galley master. She was also the volunteer coordinator of the 1995 all-female America's Cup boat, America3. Family and faith were the center of her life. She was a devoted member of the Christian Science Church in Rancho Santa Fe, California. Patricia was a fifth generation Californian. Her family arrived in Southern California in the mid-1800s. She was the daughter of the late Leon Herman Levi and Dorothy Bachman Levi. She graduated from Beverly Hills High School and attended the University of Arizona and the University of Redlands before marrying Hart, the love of her life, in 1955. Together they raised five children: Dorothy (husband, Steve Emerson), Charlie (wife, Paula), Diana (husband, Geoffrey Sturr), Craig (wife, Margaret) and Donna Isaacs Somekh. She was "Nana" to 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Patricia is survived by her brother Doug Levi (wife, Judy) their 2 children and 4 grandchildren. A Celebration of Life was held in Del Mar on August 8, 2015. Patricia requested that donations be made to the Isaacs Brothers' Foundation (fund #6926), care of The San Diego Foundation, 2508 Historic Decatur Blvd., Ste. 200, San Diego, CA 92106.
