Patricia Ann Weber Ph.D. Obituary
July 2, 1936 - March 15, 2016 Died at her home Tues., March 15th after a brief battle with cancer. Pat was a loving mother, grand and great-grandmother, an avid reader, tennis and bridge player, world traveler and very social person. Born in Chicago, to Muriel and Edmund Mailloux, the youngest of 3 daughters; predeceased by her older sister Mary Jean Houde of Illinois; survived by her sister Jackie Neuman (George) of Huntington Beach; her son Mark Weber (Kathy) of La Quinta; adopted daughter Jackie (Lorenzo) of Santa Monica; partner Wayne Read of Newport Beach; as well as five grandchildren, Matt, Katelyn, August, Cleo, and Richelle and one great grandchild, Rylee. Her newest dog "Yogi" was a special blessing. Pat attended Eastern Illinois University, earned a BA - Elementary Ed from CSU Long Beach, an MS - Education from USC and a PhD - Human Behavior & Leadership from U.S. Intl. University in San Diego. While raising her family in South Orange County, she was a member of the Laguna Niguel Tennis Club; founded the local Women's Club; and led the effort to create a community park down the street from her residence. Dr. Weber was a Reading Specialist, Adjunct Professor UCI, and Principal at Norco Junior High for 10+ yrs., where she established a college scholarship for her students. She finished her career supervising the Student Teacher Program at CSU Fullerton. She had many good friends from her long-time membership at the Newport Beach Tennis Club as well as Heritage Palms Country Club in the Coachella Valley. She was a member of various book clubs and enjoyed participating in bridge groups. She cherished her involvement as a member of Opera Focus/The Opera Club of Orange County, the Symphony 100 group - Pacific Symphony and supported SoCal PBS & Greenpeace. Friends are invited to join the family in a celebration of life ceremony on Wed., March 30th, 4pm at the Newport Beach Tennis Club. Donations in Pat's memory may be made to one of her favored organizations.
