Patricia Rogers Maimone Obituary
1943 - 2015 Patricia Rogers Maimone, of Glendale; formerly of Teaneck, NJ and Fort Montgomery, NY, died on 12 October 2015. She was a graduate of Douglass College in New Brunswick, NJ and Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ. A lifelong musician, she served for 55 years as Organist or Organist-Choir Director at Presbyterian, Lutheran, Baptist, Unitarian, Methodist and Episcopal churches. She was Organist and Director of Musical Activities at the Post Chapel at West Point, NY for 27+ years. She also played concerts on the world's largest church pipe organ at West Point's Cadet Chapel, and in 2000 served as Interim Organist-Choirmaster there. Her most recent appointment was at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Santa Monica, CA, where she served for over six years. A bi-coastal member of the American Guild of Organists, she performed with orchestras on both coasts, and toured in Europe and Taiwan. Ms. Maimone was pre-deceased by her parents, Asa L. and Dorothy W. Rogers, sister Joanne D. Rogers-Samuda, and ex-husband John J. Maimone. She is survived by her son, Mark W. Maimone (Alice Mei-King Cheung), granddaughter Selena D. Maimone, sister Barbara J. Rogers (Richard D. Weis), and many cousins, nieces and nephews, choir members, and friends. A memorial service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Santa Monica, CA on Saturday November 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the music ministry at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, the American Guild of Organists, or Lutheran World Relief.
