Patricia Tenanty Nason Obituary
It is with a very heavy heart that we share the passing of the matriarch of the Matteson clan, Patricia Tenanty Nason, on January 15, 2016. Patricia was born in Milford MA on September 5, 1934. She died peacefully at her home with her family by her side. To state that Patricia - mom, grandmother, and "2G" - will be dearly missed, is an understatement of enormous magnitude. She was the rock that we all depended upon. Her tiny, frail structure withstood forces that would have taken down a person three times her size. She would personally absorb the force of any blow a family member might face. She was the bravest person we have ever known. Patricia is mourned by her children: Kim, Jack and Tim; along with her 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Robert Nason; her son, Michael Matteson; and her grandson Elliott Feinberg. It's nearly impossible to try to encapsulate in words the person we now miss so deeply and were so very lucky to have in our lives. Imagine: 2 parts Einstein, 1 part Robinson Caruso, 1 part Phyllis Diller, 2 parts Lady Grantham and 4 parts "The Giving Tree." This paints a faint glimpse of the vibrant personality of this remarkable woman, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, neighbor and volunteer. In the end, Patricia loved unconditionally and was loved by all. She ran this marathon of life with grace and never compromised. All are welcome to celebrate her life at a memorial service this Saturday, January 23rd, at 1PM held at St. Gerard Majella Roman Catholic Church located at 4439 Inglewood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90064 (Located at the corner of Culver Blvd and Inglewood Blvd). In lieu of sending flowers, please perform a random act of kindness in her honor.
