Patricia Wilson Hammerle Obituary
May 10, 1920 - August 28, 2017 Patricia (Pat) passed away peacefully in her home due to natural causes at 97 years of age. Born on May 10, 1920 in Butler, Pennsylvania, Pat attended Slippery Rock University earning her degree in Education. After WWII, she married the love of her life, Richard Hammerle on December 1, 1945. After moving to California in the 1950s, the San Fernando Valley remained their home. Pat taught elementary education to thousands of students in her more than 30 years of teaching for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She is beloved by many of her students to this day. Following her retirement, Pat traveled the world and continued her involvement with education through groups, which included Delta Kappa Gamma, PEO and Old Treasures. She was also a docent with the Pasadena Museum of History for many years. Pat was also known for her love of tea. She gave many presentations about the history of tea throughout the Southland. Her kindness and sweet spirit was a bright light to many, many people, and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband Dick (married 71 years), her son Rick, daughter-in-law Gina, and granddaughter Lindsay.
