Brother  Patrick Corr Obituary
April 27, 1914 - June 9, 2017 Brother Patrick Corr, O.H., died at the age of 103. He was born Thomas Corr on April 27, 1914, in County Kilkenny, Ireland. He was the youngest of eleven Corr children. He entered the Hospitaller Order of St. John of God in 1939 in Ireland. Soon after completing his education as a psychiatric nurse, he was transferred to Los Angeles in 1946. Brother Patrick served in a variety of capacities. In 1968, he was elected Vicar Provincial and then as Provincial and served in these positions for six years. Quickly after arriving in Los Angeles, Brother Patrick discovered his skills and talents for fundraising. He began a remarkable journey to raise funds over a 71-year span of time to develop St. John of God Retirement & Care Center, on West Adams Boulevard in Los Angeles. His success in development of St. John of God was due to the support of numerous benefactors. He is survived by his religious family of Brothers of St. John of God and numerous family members throughout Ireland, Los Angeles and different parts of the world.
