October 7, 1917 - May 31, 2016 Pauline was born Pauline Kozak and raised in Wilmerding, Pennsylvania, by immigrant parents who were illiterate and spoke little or no English. She married Bud Galbraith and moved to Los Angeles after WWII. Her only child, Michael, was born in 1949. They moved to Piñon Hills and bought a grocery store in 1959. In 1964, after her marriage failed, she and her son moved to Burbank where she worked odd jobs until she got a job with the L.A. County as an assistant librarian. In the 1970's she went to C.S.U.L.A where she received her B.A. degree and U.S.C. where she received her master's degree. She then became a librarian. She bought a house in Lynwood in 1976 and was joined there by her son in 1983. After she retired from the county in 1986 she worked 13 years part time for the city of Inglewood as a librarian. She loved children and dogs and would hold court in the patio helping the kids with their home work and playing games. She also led an exercise class and taught the adults Spanish. She is survived by her son Michael.
