Pauline Louise Denbo Obituary
July 21, 1921 - August 29, 2016 Pauline L. Denbo died at age ninety-five at West Hills Hospital in West Hills, CA on August 29th, 2016. She died peacefully two days after a massive stroke. Born Pauline Louise Shelby on July 21, 1921, on Petit Jean Mountain, Morrilton, Arkansas, the oldest of six children, of parents Raymond Lester Shelby and Grace Leona Deeter, she was the loving wife of the late Jerald D. Denbo and together they celebrated 58 years of marriage. Pauline grew up on her father's farm in Arkansas and then in Forrest, Illinois. She studied at the University of Illinois, and then taught elementary school. She met and married Jerry Denbo after WWII war ended. They moved to California in 1956. Pauline will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, church and friends and for her love of life. She was an active dedicated member and deacon at St. James Presbyterian church in Tarzana. Pauline was a great cook, mother of five, grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of seven. Pauline is survived by her 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren as well as her sister Pat Shelby Tayler and husband Jerry, sister-in-law Caroline Haas Shelby and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Lester Shelby, and sisters, Sylvia Barnes, Evelyn Jenkins, and Carolyn Gauger. Memorial services will be on September 24th, 2016, at 2:00pm at: St. James Presbyterian Church 19414 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana, CA 91356 818-345-2057
