November 8, 1945 - November 11, 2016 On Friday, November 11, after a four-year battle with cancer, Penny Farber took her final breath. She bravely fought and struggled through this debilating disease that finally had the upper hand. Daughter of Dr. Harry and Lazelle Farber who preceded her in death. Born in Denton, Texas and a move to the west coast shortly after her Father's death, her journey has been interesting. New York City became her home of choice. An independent person, Penny had a wicked sense of humor, was exceptionally strong willed and never afraid to voice her opinion. With a keen eye for design and style, she was always ahead of the curve and was never one to follow. Her long career in the garment industry was multi-dimensional and took her to all corners of the world. She was also an accomplished artist and proprietor of her own company Pennyarts which curated unique and special objects for others to enjoy. Her final days were spent surrounded with warmth and pure kindness by the staff of Calvary Hospital in the Bronx with assistance from Roz and other aides who got to know her over this last year. She leaves behind her sister Erica Farber who has been by her side for every step throughout this long and painful journey plus a wonderfully diverse group of friends and her business family at Orange International.
