Philip L. Nare Obituary
Philip Nare passed away on September 18, 2017, surrounded by his family. Born in Burbank to Robert and Marie Nare, Phil served three years in the Navy during WWII, where he was stationed in the South Pacific theater. After returning home, Phil began a 32-year career with the Burbank Fire Department as a Captain, working alongside his brother Jack Nare, a Battalion Chief. Phil and his wife, Caroline, spent nearly 71 years together and raised three children in Burbank. Phil was an accomplished outdoorsman and big game hunter who travelled the world during retirement with his beloved wife. Phil was predeceased by his parents, brother, and his daughter, Jennifer Kay. He is survived by his wife, Caroline; daughter, Kathleen; son, Mark; 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. A celebration of Phil's life will take place on September 30 at Crippen Mortuary in La Crescenta, California, at 11:00am.
