Philip W. Anastasia died of organ failure on Saturday, September 10, 2016 in Las Vegas , Nevada. Phil was born on September 19, 1918 in Revere, Massachusetts, the first son and third child of Philip Anastasia and Mary Bartello Anastasia. Three sisters and two brothers completed the family. Phil attended school in the greater Boston areas, graduating from Boston English High School in 1936. He worked at a variety of jobs until the outbreak of the World War II. He entered the U. S. Army Air Corps in 1942. He was accepted into the Army Air Force Pilot Cadet Program but elected not pursue becoming a pilot. He was attached to Headquarters of the 9th Army Air Force. He supported the U.S. Army Air Corps in the African, Middle Eastern and European Theaters. He fought in numerous battles including the Invasion of North Africa, the Invasion of Sicily, the Invasion of Naples-Foggia and the Battle of the Bulge. He married Elaine Chalifoux on October 21, 1945 and together they had three children. He was a partner in the family construction corporation until he and his family moved to California in 1953, after which he began a career in automotive , marine and real estate sales both in California and Florida. During the 70's, 80's and 90's he pursued a number of entrepreneurial business ventures . He married Mary Tsokolas Lorenzo in 1971. He was predeceased by his parents, Philip and Mary Bartello Anastasia, sisters Beatrice Anastasia, Marie Anastasia DiRocco and Rose Anastasia Hansen, first wife Elaine Chalifoux Anastasia , third wife Mary Tsokolas Anastasia and stepson Michael Lorenzo, sisters in law, Lola Anastasia and Virginia Anastasia. He is survived by brothers, Edward (Virginia) Anastasia and Jack (Lola) Anastasia, children Elaine Anastasia Wunderlich Janson (James) sons, Philip William Anastasia, Jr. (WeiXiu) and Gerard Anastasia (Sue), stepson William Lorenzo; grandchildren Erik Wunderlich, Anastasia Wunderlich, Gianna Wunderlich Tuckner (Matthew) , Nicholas Wunderlich, Andrew Anastasia (Evelyn) and Natalie Anastasia Green (Joshua); Stepgrandchildren Gregory Janson (Clara), Jennifer Janson, Dr. AnneMarie Fogle (Ross), Jeffrey Janson (Tandy) Greatgrandchildren Nellie Green, Jude Green and Isadora Anastasia, stepgreatgrandchildren Sophia, Lucas, Grace and Sally Jo Janson and Joshua and Michael Fogle. He is also survived by Nephews Dr. Gregory DiRocco (Saranne), GiGi DiRocco Petrovich, (Gregory) ,Patrice DiRocco; Roy Montgomery (Luda) ,Richard Anastasia (Michael), Jack Anastasia Jr. (Kathryn), Damon Anastasia , as well as numerous great nieces and nephews. Phil lived a long and interesting life and is now happily greeting his loved ones in heaven. The Rosary will be Thursday, September 22 at St. Cyril's Church in Encino at 8:00 p.m., Mass of Christian Burial, Internment and Miltary Honors will be Friday, September 23 at 12:30 p.m. in the Risen Christ Chapel at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
