Priscilla Allen Ahern, 86, of Newport Beach, died on September 4, 2016. Survived by her husband, Thomas S. Ahern; children Saragail Standish (Dino), Robert Cowgill, Jr. (Virginia), Bruce Cowgill (Veronica), and Deborah Cowgill; stepdaughter Julianne Williams (David); sister Joan Allen Funk (Deane); grandchildren: Nathan, Amanda, Robert, Bradley, Matthew, Kevin, and T. Jack. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert H Cowgill and granddaughter Madeline and brother, Bill Allen. Priscilla was born on September 27, 1929 in Los Angeles, the daughter of W. Herbert and Eleanor Allen. Raised in Pasadena, attended Polytechnic School, graduated from Katherine Branson School in Ross, California, attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. Married Robert H. Cowgill of Providence, R.I. in 1950. They lived in Pasadena where she was the editor of the Junior League magazine. They were members of the Newport Harbor Yacht Club. Completed her education with a BFA from The Chouinard Art Institute, and Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Azusa Pacific University. In 1989, she married Thomas S. Ahern and they retired to Newport Beach, California. They became members of the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club. Funeral will be held Friday, Sept 16 at 2pm at Pacific View Mortuary, 3500 Pacific View Dr.,Corona del Mar, CA. In lieu of flowers, send contributions to the Catalina Island Conservancy and Polytechnic School.
