October 24, 1924 - June 15, 2017 Ramona Rose ("Mona") Riley aged 92 passed away peacefully on Thursday June 15, 2017 in Sherman Oaks, California. She was born in Nebraska on October 22, 1924. Mona attended David City High School before attending the University of Nebraska, John Hopkins University and the University of Oregon. Mona married Francis Donald ("Don") Riley in 1952 and lived in North Hollywood for over 60 years. They had three children and were married for 49 years before Don Riley passed away in December 2001. Mona worked as a school nurse for the Los Angeles school system. She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Catholic church. She was also an active member and participant in numerous PTA's, Little Leagues and Cub Scout groups and enjoyed volunteering at Old Treasures, playing bridge and going on trips with Elder Hostel. Mona and Don traveled extensively and went to such far flung places as Egypt, Russia and Afghanistan. Her greatest joy however was her family. She was a devoted wife and wonderful mother and grandmother to her grandchildren. She is survived by her three children, David R. Riley of Seattle, Washington, Paul T. Riley of Carpenteria, California and Susan Riley Sweeney of Valley Village, California.
