Richard Frank Gunter Obituary
July 28, 1951 - August 30, 2016 Rick, a Los Angeles native, was a true gentleman, devoted husband, father, grandfather, loyal friend, brother, mentor and a man of boundless kindness. He married Cathy in 1975 and together raised three incredible sons, Brian (Taylor), Cory (Erin) and Terry. They were blessed with six adorable grandchildren, Jayden, Wyatt, Wesley, Shane, Riley and Elizabeth. His family was Rick's greatest source of pride. A well respected Director of Photography, Rick was a member of the American Society of Cinematographers with credits too numerous to list. With his ever present signature bushy moustache, Rick was a soft spoken DP who knew his craft well and shared his knowledge with others. Rick always kept his calm on the set and kept things moving smoothly. Rick was an avid woodworker and photographer, but first and foremost a family man.His passing leaves a hole in our hearts that cannot be filled, but his legacy will live on in his talented sons. He will remain our Superman and hero. Family and friends whose lives were touched by Rick are invited to celebrate his life on Sunday, September 18 @10:30 at the Motion Picture Woodland Hills campus, Edith Head Lawn located at 23388 Mulholland Drive, Woodland Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick's memory may be made to MPTF Foundation, memo Palliative Care at the above address.
