Richard George Hangebrauk Obituary
November 2, 1956 - March 31, 2017 Richard George Hangebrauk passed away unexpectedly at John Muir Medical Center in Concord, California on March 31, 2017 at the age of 60. Richard is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deborah Ular Hangebrauk of Martinez, California; sister Beverly Keyes, brother-in-law Tom Keyes, nieces Olivia and Leah Keyes of Seminole, Texas; brother Steven Hangebrauk of Las Vegas, Nevada; niece Rhianna Babka, niece-in-law Kathy Fleming, grandnieces Phoebe and Theia Babka-Fleming of El Cerrito, California; and niece Marian Hangebrauk of Eugene, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary-Louise Hangebrauk, father Carl Hangebrauk of Plymouth, California, and niece Jane Hangebrauk of Eugene, Oregon. Richard was born on November 2, 1956 in Inglewood, California, to Mary-Louise and Carl Hangebrauk. He graduated in 1974 from Westchester High School in Los Angeles, California. He married Deborah, the love of his life in 1986. He was an extremely hard worker, spent most of his career and free time outdoors and appreciated nature's beauty and serenity. For his professional career, he was an Operating Engineer in grading for over 30 years. In addition, with a partner, he had his own new custom home construction business, Vista Homes, for approximately 9 years, constructing large scale homes in Pacific Palisades and Camarillo, California. But his primary life's work was a sincere dedication and devotion to caring for those around him. Richard had a logical mind, sharp wit, a gentle, calm personality and an intensely wise and forgiving spirit. He was a generous and compassionate individual who loved his family endlessly. His surviving family and friends will miss him dearly.
