Richard Steven Singer Obituary
November 22, 1941 - June 24, 2016 Richard Steven Singer, "Dickie", age 74 formerly of Chicago, IL passed away Friday, June 24th after an extensive battle with Cancer. He graduated Sullivan High in 1959 and immediately joined the Navy where he served on the USS Coral Sea until 1963. He received his undergrad from San Fernando Valley College (know now as CSUN) then graduated from the San Fernando Valley College of Law in 1973, passed the California bar in 1974 and practiced law for over 40 years. Richard had been a member of the Los Angeles B'nai Brith organization where he and his family volunteered their time to deliver holiday baskets to the less fortunate every year. He was the patriarch of the whole family and was always organizing the next get-together. He had many hobbies but his true love was Golf. You could find him any given day on the course, sometimes even playing 36 holes in a day. Most importantly he was a devoted husband and father, who loved his family very much. He made sure you knew this, even in his last hours. "I want them to know I was blessed", he stated. Richard is survived by his "bashert"; wife of 43 years, Suzanne Jayne Singer; son, Michael Dean Singer and his wife, Andrea with their 5 children; 3 granddaughters, Sienna, Brynna, & Michaela; 2 grandsons, Griffin & Colton; son Joshua Steven Singer and his wife, Mandy with two grandchildren, Cole & Gabrielle; daughter Rebecca Anne DeLeon and her husband Daniel; 1 granddaughter, Scarlett Joe and numerous cousins. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 1st at Groman Eden Mortuary 11500 Sepulveda Blvd Mission Hills, CA 91345. There will be a viewing before the start of the funeral for those who would like to pay their final respects.
