Ricky Forsberg Obituary
1994 - 2017 OUR RICKY - Our 22-year old grandson was ripped from our hearts this week. I don't know where to begin. Our love for Ricky was and is great and intense. The thought of not seeing him again feels almost impossible. His family is devastated and in pain - us, our kids, Leslie, Heidi, Eric and Bob. This is a severe loss - not supposed to be this way; that an 81-year old is delivering a eulogy for Ricky, my grandson. He was charismatic, good looking and bright from day one. I was there at his birth, in the room. When he was three we played cards, checkers and soon, even chess. He lived with us. He and his cousin, Thomas, attended pre-school together and then it was six wonderful years at Stephen Weiss elementary. Three or four basketball teams a year were the norm. We attended baseball, football and basketball games and track meets; Shabbat dinners and his marvelous bar mitzvah; and his special favorite, doing 360° flips on wake boards. Then it was on to Summit View High School where Ricky thrived as a straight A student and Athlete of the Year, guided by marvelous teachers and coaches. After one year at the U. of Arizona, he returned to Los Angeles where he lived until his passing this week. And, now here we are. The end of a magnificent and way too short life. His mother, grandmother and I, plus multitudes of others, will love and miss you forever. Amen.
