Robert A. Mandat Obituary
December 23, 1955 - November 29, 2017 Robert Mandat, a television Lead Man and decorator for many sitcoms, passed away from Wernicke Korsakoff syndrome Wednesday afternoon at Hannah's Home in Woodland Hills, CA. He had been suffering from the effects of dementia for over a year. He was raised in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, with his 2 brothers James and William and 2 sisters Susan and Barbara, all of whom survive him. He began his decorating career as a window dresser for Polsky's in Akron and later in 1978 after moving to Los Angeles at Bullocks and May Co. department stores. He began his television career following work in several independent films in 1990, working on sitcoms Who's the Boss?, The Nanny, Beakman's World, Unhappily Ever After and Boy's World. He worked as a Local 44 prop man at the Sony Pictures Prop House until 2008. In California he and his partner of 40 years, Michael Brittain, have lived in the Hollywood Hills. Funeral Services are being handled by Sunset Plan.
