Robert Ebbert Obituary
September 17, 1935 - January 24, 2017 Bob lost his life in Santa Monica, CA after several months in the hospital battling infection complications after spinal surgery. Bob was born in Chicago and moved to Los Angeles upon entering UCLA, where he received an undergraduate and MBA degree in accounting. He made California his permanent home and was married to Elise, his loving wife for 53 years. He loved watching sports, especially USC Football, as he became "enlightened" in the early sixties and joined the Trojan Family and became an avid USC fan. His motto was Fight On, which he did until the end. Bob was also a good athlete and a sports enthusiast, an avid reader, and a classic movie buff; his knowledge was immense. He enjoyed skiing, tennis, and bicycling. Bob worked for Cabot, Cabot & Forbes and then the Hewson Company. With his partner, Scott, in 2003, he co-founded Sheridan Ebbert Development, a well-respected real estate firm focusing on industrial development in Southern California where they completed many projects. Bob was a veteran, a patriot and solid citizen. He was a kind, generous, loyal, and humble human being to all who knew him. All who knew him are devastated by his unexpected loss. He will be missed on the "smart porch". Bob was predeceased by his parents and just recently by his brother Richard (Dick). He is survived by his partner in life, Elise, and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers a gift to Swim with Mike would be deeply appreciated. Please direct your gift in honor of Bob to Swim with Mike,3501 Watt Way, Suite 203B. Los Angeles, CA 90089, (attn. Cindy) or online donations at swimwithmike.org. A private reception will be held.
