Robert J. Lunn, Ph.D., passed away September 15, 2015 with his wife Cheri at his side. Bob was one of the pioneers in the use of advanced analytical methods in business research. He was the president of Focalpoint Analytics and previously had been the Executive Director of Survey Research Operations at J.D. Power and Associates. Bob was born during WWII to parents Malcolm and Joan Lunn in New York, where he graduated from the New York Military Academy. He later received his M.A. and Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from The Claremont Graduate University, performing post-doctoral training as a National Institute of Health Fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. Bob was a recipient of the prestigious Cattell award, presented by the New York Academy of Science for the best dissertation in Psychology in the United States. Throughout his life Bob's curiosity grew with his knowledge. He continued to study business and statistical analysis while developing new, more insightful methods for identifying, understanding, and measuring the many factors affecting business performance. Bob was known not only for his brilliant work, but for his kindness, humor, generosity, unfailing optimism, and warm relationships with family, friends, and colleagues. Bob is survived by his wife, brother, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a dear aunt, all of whom were always in his heart. "A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth good things," Matthew 12:35.
