Dr.  Robert Richard Witmer Obituary
December 1, 1932 - November 8, 2015 Dr. Robert Richard Witmer of Rolling Hills, California was born on December 1, 1932 in Las Vegas, Nevada, and passed peacefully on November 8, 2015 in Torrance, California. Dr. Witmer was President and Valedictorian of the 1964 graduating class of the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry and was a member of many honorary societies including the Skull and Dagger Society of USC. He practiced dentistry in downtown Los Angeles for 27 years. During his esteemed career, he was a member of the Wilshire Academy of Dentistry and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Health, the Academy of General Dentistry and the American Dental Society. Dr. Witmer also served as President of the Los Angeles Dental Society and a member of the board of Delta Dental. He is survived by his sister, Barbara, his beloved children, David, Jonathan and Melinda Witmer, his son in law, Bill Koenig, and his treasured grandchildren, Stephen and Samantha Koenig. He is recently pre-deceased by his cherished wife, Goldia Joyce Fortner Witmer. Dr. Witmer will be memorialized in the Chapel at Green Hills Memorial Park, 27501 S. Western Avenue, Rancho Palos Verdes, California at 11am on Saturday, November 14, 2015 - the date of his 65th wedding anniversary. All are welcome to join his family in celebrating Dr. Witmer's well-lived life. He will join Joyce in interment following the memorial service on the grounds of the park.
