Obituary Condolences

August 26, 1921 - October 24, 2015 Roland B. Herman, DMD passed away in Los Angeles, CA at age 94. He was born in New York City, son of Philip and Marion Herman. He attended Townsend Harris High School and City College of New York and earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Louisville, KY. He served as a dentist in the US Navy in World War II and the Korean War. He maintained a private practice in general dentistry in White Plains, NY throughout his professional career where he and his wife Dr. Grace Herman raised their two daughters, Gail Ellen and Joan Elizabeth Herman. He gave back to his community by volunteering his services at the White Plains Hospital dental clinic throughout his career. He loved model trains and boating and served as a founding officer of the Polaris Yacht Club, Cos Cob, CT. He also taught advanced piloting for the US Power Squadron for many years. He is survived by his daughters, son-in-law Richard Rasiej, and grandson Drew P. Mendelbaum. The family wishes to thank all of the staff from Atria Senior Living Pacific Palisades, CA where Roland has lived for the past 8 years. Funeral services will be held at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles at 11:30 am on Tuesday October 27. Shiva will be observed at the residence of Joan Herman and Richard Rasiej following the interment until 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Roland B.
