Rose L. Clark Obituary
March 30, 2015 Rose Clark died peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 30, 2015 at the age of 100 in Hawthorne, Ca. Rose was an accomplished artist who expressed herself in different mediums, themes and styles. She won many awards in various art exhibits in Southern California and was an avid exhibitor in the heyday of the arts and crafts venues. She was a founding member and a past president of the Paletteers. She also travelled widely throughout Canada, the United States, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Russia. She also loved camping and hiking in California's Sierra Nevada mountains and felt a close kinship to the mountain terrain and environment. She ended a two-week backpack trip on the John Muir Trail with an ascent of Mt. Whitney. Her love of the outdoors was frequently expressed in her landscape paintings. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William, and her brothers and sister living in Meriden, Conn. and Tampa, Fl. She is survived by her daughter Diana Hamid of Vallejo, Ca.; son William and wife Maben of Grass Valley, Ca.; grandchildren Kabir Hamid of Hawthorne, Ca.; Haleem and wife Hollan Hamid of Moloaa, Hi.; and great-grandchildren Jaden, Kalia, and Lilah Hamid also of Moloaa, Hi.
