Rose M. Gelleny Da Rin Obituary
Rose Margaret Gelleny Da Rin, 90, died peacefully Sunday January 10, 2016. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Edward, whom she has sorely missed. Rose Gelleny was born in Hungary and immigrated to Welland, Canada in 1929 as a very young girl. She met her husband, Ed, on a blind date and in 1948 married her sweetheart from Niagara Falls, New York. Rose and Ed moved to California in the mid 1950's and never looked back. Rose was active for many years in the Arcadia PTA and various charitable organizations including the Assistance League of Arcadia and Lawyer's Wives of Pasadena. Rose loved flowers, particularly roses and tulips, which she always had around her, she loved her family with all her heart and had a tremendous sense of style and fashion. She and Ed were inseparable. Rose was his executive assistant in his law practice up until the time of his death. They arrived at work together holding hands and left at the end of the day together. Throughout Rose's life, she had a special place in her heart for young children. She loved her grandchildren deeply and was so delighted to be a great grandmother. Rose will be remembered for her love of her family, her spirit and sense of duty, and her love of her adopted country. Rose leaves her three children: Linda (Will), David, and Tom (Marcia); four grandchildren-Kate (Ryan), Elizabeth (Mike), Jennifer and Kelli, and three great grandchildren-Henry, Nora and Anna-all of whom will miss her dearly.
