Rose Marie Blumstein-Schroeder Obituary
1924 - 2017 Rose Marie Blumstein-Schroeder, born in Chicago on November 7, 1924, died peacefully on December 16, 2017 in Camarillo, surrounded by her family. In her Von Steuben High School yearbook Rose Marie was described as the "dancer supreme." Upon moving to Los Angeles at age 19, she became the personal assistant to Harry Pantages of the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. She married Dr. Samuel Blumstein, M.D., of blessed memory and had four children: Alan Blumstein, Jeanne Salazar, Dr. Nancy Blumstein (Dr. Joseph Edelstein) and Joy Soll (Bruce Soll). She was a graduate of Los Angeles City College and later got her real estate license and worked for Merrill Lynch Realty. After being widowed for 17 years, she re-met and married longtime friend Dr. Norman Schroeder, M.D., of blessed memory, and gained another loving son, Bob Schroeder. Rose Marie never knew a stranger, and made friends wherever she went. She loved music, art and dogs. She believed that "people who need people are the luckiest people in the world." She inspired us to "climb every mountain, ford every stream, follow every rainbow 'till you find your dream." And she told us "all I want is everything." She is survived by her children and by grandchildren Sam Tamargo, Chris Salazar, Jason Soll, Evan Soll, Adam Soll, Aryeh Edelstein, Chana Edelstein, Adam Schroeder, Lisa Lane, Paul Kaplan, Ashley Miller, Nicole Seidman, her great-grandson Isaiah Salazar, as well as her beloved niece Gail Eichenthal, grandnephew Benjamin Howard, and many other cherished family members and friends. Our eternal gratitude to caregiver and friend Gema Biano and to Care At Home Solutions.
