Rosemarie Lightner Obituary
Rosemarie Lightner (nee Corsano) passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Anaheim, California. She was 88. She was born December 12, 1927 in New York City to Ralph and Agnes Corsano and is survived by her son Rick, daughter-in-law (considered her daughter) Christine, nieces Rita, Rosemarie, and Irene as well as grand nieces Madeleine and Lauren, and grand nephew Max. Rosemarie retired from the City of Anaheim in 1996 after 20 years where she worked as a Housing Specialist. She was active in political affairs, the activities of St. Justin Martyr Church, and feeding the homeless. She leaves behind a legacy of action, involvement and fun that attracted everyone who knew her. She is remembered as living her life the way she wanted. She accomplished much having moved from New York City to San Francisco with her sister, Catherine, in 1950. That was unusual and brave for the time. She later married, had a son and a Siamese cat, Tommy, learned to drive, went to college, and graduated with a Sociology degree in 1971. She spent her later years volunteering, relaxing, and enjoying life. She loved walking and drinking coffee at the Disneyland Hotel where she acted as a kind of ambassador telling the tourists they would enjoy Anaheim. Since high school she has been known for her laugh, and she lives on in the hearts of all who knew her. A celebration of life will be held at St. Justin Martyr Church on Ball Road in Anaheim, California on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at 10:00 am. Her ashes will be interred at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Huntington Beach. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dilday Chapel in Huntington Beach, California.
