Rosette Kulkin Obituary
January 2, 1930 - March 28, 2017 Rosette Kulkin died peacefully in her home shortly after turning 87. She was born in Paris, France, and following WWII, at the age of 19, she met Isidore Kulkin, a Lithuanian holocaust survivor, while on vacation in Italy. Although they barely spoke each other's language, they fell in love and married. They had a fairytale honeymoon on Ischia, an island near Capri, and ultimately settled in Nice, France, where their daughter Sylvie was born. In 1962, the family immigrated to Los Angeles, and here they built a thriving life. Their marriage of 66 years was marked by great love and loyalty. Rosette had an insatiable curiosity about the world, loved Mozart and impressionism, spoke several languages, and always remained proud of her French heritage. She especially loved French cooking, and her dinner parties, attended by a wide circle of friends of many different nationalities, were legendary. She was celebrated for her intelligence, culture, beauty, and vivacious personality. Rosette was a loving, kind-hearted woman who never forgot anyone's birthday, had an adventurous spirit, and was a great advocate of women's rights. Donations in her memory may be made to a Jewish or educational institution of your choice.
