He was 74. Born on June 24, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, Russ moved to Los Angeles on his sixteenth birthday… and never looked back. His eclectic life path featured writing, basketball, jazz, dancing, gardening, coaching, refereeing, archeological digs, corporate project management and twenty-four years of service as a City of Los Angeles Interview Specialist. A prolific writer, Russ's books include Regulus and Screw: The Truth About Walpole State Prison By The Guard Who Lived It, which he co-authored with Michael McLaughlin and Warren Jamison. His articles and commentary topics, often ahead of their time, ranged from youth sports injury to the human condition. He made frequent media appearances and met his wife as a guest on her national radio show. Russ introduced Judi to the beauty of the Pacific Coast, where they traveled extensively. Russ is preceded in death by his parents, Stanley J. Dynda and Alice Noble Dynda, and his sister, Marilyn Dynda. Beloved husband Russ is survived by his wife, Judi Paparelli, and his brother, Ernest Dynda. Russ Dynda lived an uncommon, fascinating life.
