Ruth A. Grubman

Obituary Condolences

January 21, 1922 - December 6, 2015 Ruth Grubman passed away peacefully on December 6th surrounded by family. Beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother of two adorable children, Ruth was born in Chicago in 1922 and moved to California with her late husband Harry Cooper in the 1940s. She married Sid Grubman in 1970 and the two spent the past 20 years living at Sun City in Palm Desert. She enjoyed aerobics at Trim and Tone with her friends where she was "everybody's mom." She also enjoyed her weekly game of mahjong with friends, as well as cruises with "the girls" where she was the life of the party. Strongly independent and never shy to share an opinion, Ruth was a smart, feisty fashionista until her last days. Most of all she loved her family and was always interested in their lives and wanted the best for all. She is survived by her husband Sid Grubman, two loving children, Judy Frith-Smith (David) and Rick Cooper (Virginia), beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, many friends, a mahjong group, book club and an aerobics class full of admirers and good friends. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral and her ashes will be interred in Palm Desert.
