Ruth Ann Hyson Obituary
March 12, 1921 - July 19, 2017 Ruth Ann passed away peacefully at home with her family on July 19. Born in Rock Springs, Wyoming, she and her parents and sister lived in a number of cities in the West while her father worked in management positions for the Union Pacific Railroad. She attended the University of Utah and Pomona College, graduating with a degree in music. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. After her marriage to Robert Hyson in Omaha, Nebraska, the couple moved to California and bought a home in the San Fernando Valley. Their son and daughter, Jane and John were born there. While living in the Valley, Ruth Ann was active in the Volunteer League, National Charity League and the Episcopal Church. She and Bob moved to Corona Del Mar in 1975 and remained there until their passing. Ruth Ann is survived by her daughter Jane (Bob) Parker, 3 granddaughters and their spouses, 5 great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law Charles Mosmann, two nieces and their spouses, a great-nephew and a great-niece. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister and son. She touched many lives and will be remembered for her wit, wisdom and phenomenal memory. A memorial service will be held at 1 P.M. on August 19 at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Newport Beach. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to Second Harvest or Someone Cares Soup Kitchen.
