Ruth V. Harvey Obituary
May 30, 1919 - August 6, 2016 In loving memory of our mother, Ruth V. Harvey, born to Harry and Elsie Keat, in Elizabeth, New Jersey. Ruth is survived by her four daughters, Barbara Schultz, Stephanie Glaesner, Jennifer Smith and Laurie Fay, brother Paul Keat of New York, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ruth was a graduate of William and Mary University where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority. Ruth worked as a social worker in Berkeley, California, and as the Youth Director for the Red Cross in Pasadena, California. She was a member of the D.A.R. for over 50 years. Ruth served with the Peace Corps in Thailand when she was 65 years old. She later returned to Thailand to instruct the villagers on dietary needs to prevent blindness. Ruth was a member of Saint Clement's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church for over 30 years and formed special relationships with many of the congregation. She will truly be missed by all. There will be a memorial service later this month. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Saint Clement's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church in San Clemente.
