January 4, 1945 - May 8, 2015 Salvatore (Sal) Collura died May 8, 2015 with his loving family by his side in Irvine, CA Sal was born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 4, 1945 to James and Rosie Collura during the worst snow storm they had seen in a century. Sal was a great football player at Benedictine Catholic High School. He was recently inducted into their Football Hall of Fame. Sal and the family moved to Culver City, CA in 1977 and then to Irvine, CA in 1986 were he resided with his wife Penny for the past 29 years. Sal was employed by Universal Underwriters/Zurich International Insurance from 1984-2008 as a Regional Sales Manager. His Southern California Office was always one of the top producers. Sal was widely respected and well liked by all his employees and peers. Sal spent his retirement years traveling extensively to Europe and recently to Machu Picchu one of his bucket list destinations. Sal was an avid golfer and belonged to an Italian Wine Making Group. He was also the treasurer for AEIOU an Italian Organization made up of educators. They award scholarships to Opera and Italian Language Students. Sal was a dedicated Father and Grandfather, spending much quality time with his children and grandchildren. Sal is survived by spouse Penelope(Penny) Collura. Children; Lisa Collura Meli (Stephen), Nick Collura, and Deanna Collura Davalos (Brett). Grandchildren: Camryn Meli, Ethan Meli, Owen Meli, Reilly Collura and Avery Collura. Sibilings: Mario Collura and Josephine Woosley. And multitudes of realitives in Cleveland, Ohio.
