Samuel Vinton Cornell IV Obituary
August 17, 1946 - December 1, 2016 Surrounded by family, our beloved brother Samuel Vinton Cornell IV passed peacefully to heaven on December 1, 2016 at the age of 70. Born in Fresno, California to Samuel and Kathryn Cornell, Sam grew up in Southern California where he attended San Fernando Valley 7th Day Adventist Academy, graduating as Sr. Class President in 1963. After serving in the United States Army from 1966 to 1968 Sam embarked upon his rewarding lifetime career as caregiver to others. Proudly employed as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years, Sam's profession called him far and wide. He especially loved living in Alaska for the last 16 years, most recently retiring from the State of Alaska as an administrating nursing supervisor. As a lifelong lover of animals and humans, detailed storyteller, and most avid fisherman, Sam will long be remembered for his intelligence, outspoken opinion, and faithful and compassionate friendship. Sam is survived by his beautiful daughters Lara Cornell and Alisa Cornell-Felgate, as well as precious grandchildren Daisy and Jack Felgate; brothers Fred Cornell, Greg Cornell and Galen Steward; sisters Sherri Cornell, Charyn Flores and Marti Foxworthy, and his many adoring nieces and nephews. Private services for Sam's family and friends are pending.
