January 2, 1931 - October 18, 2017 Born to Margaret Cravens Brooks Douglass and Sam Douglass Sr in Paris, Arkansas. Married to Jacquelyn Fisher Douglass. Children are Heather Douglass Keller, Erin Douglass King, Brooks Douglass and Sean Douglass. Grandchildren are Alyson, Chasen and Brennan Keller, Preston, Cameron and Braden King, Brooks Douglass Jr., Paige and Spencer Douglass. Graduated from USC in 1958 and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He was the Chairman of Douglass Family Mortuaries which include El Segundo, Hawthorne, Paramount, Lynwood and Southgate. He also was the founder of Douglass Airline Funeral Coordinators. Community Service included President of Hawthorne Community Hospital and Chairman of the Robert F. Kennedy Medical Center Foundation. Sam was Founder of El Segundo First National Bank (now Citizens Business Bank,) President of El Segundo Kiwanis Club, Board member of El Segundo Education Foundation, a member of El Segundo Chamber of Commerce and El Segundo Baseball Commissioner. He served on the board of Centinela Valley YMCA and the President of the South Bay Trojan Club. He was the President of the LA County Funeral Directors Assoc., appointed to the LA Mayor's Emergency Committee and Chairman of the LA 20th Century Round Table as well as a member of the OC Roundtable. He was active with the Ferrari Owners Club and the Southwest Region of the Ferrari Club of America. He liked boating, fishing, skiing, hunting and racing. He loved meat, candy, manhattans and Philippes French Dip Sandwiches. He lived by USC Trojan Football and his famous tailgates and was a Cardinal and Gold member, attending every game. And he openly adored and opened his heart to his family and friends. What a man...Fight on Sam!
