Obituary Condolences

October 21, 1920 - September 9, 2015 Seymour died peacefully in his sleep on September 9, 2015 at the age of 94 after a brief illness. He was married to his beloved wife, Florence, for 65 years until her death in 2013. He is survived by sons Bill (Lisa), Ric (Carol), and Peter; grandsons Rob and Miles, and his brother Leonard. Seymour was preceded in death by his brother Bob. He was born in Stamford, CT. After receiving a degree in Electrical Engineering from Yale University in 1942, he worked for the Radio Research Laboratory at Harvard University. In 1944 he represented the Radio Research Laboratory as a technical observer with the U. S. Air Force in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. He later received his MS and Phd at Harvard University. After graduation from Harvard in 1948, he was employed by Sperry Gyroscope Co. until 1953 and Stanford Research Institute until 1960. Thereafter, he was Vice President and Technology Director for Rantec Corp. in Calabasas, CA. After leaving Rantec in 1967 he worked as an industry consultant until retirement. Dr. Cohn authored more than 50 technical papers over his lifetime, and had more than 40 patents, and received numerous awards in his field. Seymour had a wonderful and full life with Florence traveling the world, enjoying the arts, literature, skiing in his younger days, and spending time with family and their many friends. His last years were spent at Belmont Village in Westwood- reading, enjoying movies and making new friends. We are grateful for the warm and caring staff at Belmont. He will forever be in our hearts. There was no service per his wishes.
