Sharon Beth Greene Obituary
January 21, 1952 - July 2, 2015 Sharon Beth Greene passed away on July 2, 2015, surrounded by family. She waged a heroic battle against multiple myeloma for four and a half years. Her ability to roll calmly and gracefully with each new wave of treatment was an inspiration to all who knew her. Sharon was born in Brooklyn, New York to Louis and Renee Greene, grew up with best friends Donna Segal and Renee Gormley, graduated from Brooklyn College and Michigan State University, and moved to Los Angeles in 1974, fulfilling a lifelong dream. She was an educator for 34 years, serving as a special education teacher, dean, assistant principal and principal in LAUSD. She mentored many, using her exceptional combination of humor, warmth, and wisdom to lighten the mood and soothe anxieties. She loved travel, family, friends, pets, and all things Star Trek. Sharon was adored by her family of friends, and her beloved of 34 years, Judie Kight. She is survived by Judie, their daughter, Hazel Kight Witham, son-in-law, Drake Witham, and grandsons Gray and Cole; her brother, Kenneth Greene and his wife Zina; niece Samantha Halaseh and her husband Wael; and nephew Adam Greene and his wife Ashley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to City of Hope or Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation in memory of Sharon.
