January 30, 1922 - May 19, 2015 Internationally renown and recognized allergist-immunologist; born and grew up in Virginia MN. Received undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Minnesota. USAF Captain, served as Director of Pediatrics and Allergy at Lackland Air Force Hospital (San Antonio), and subsequently as an Inspector General on overseas reviews, providing reports to the AF Surgeon General. Entered private practice in Los Angeles with the Children's Medical Group; subsequently founded Allergy Medical Group. Co-founder of the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA); founded the California chapter of AAFA which pioneered use of Breathmobiles for providing wider spread availability of asthmatic care for school-age children on a local basis, along with foundation sponsored, medically staffed summer camps for asthmatic children that could not otherwise utilize or afford such facilities. UCLA Clinical Professor; revered by colleagues and fellows, recognized for research and training, with his students now nationally well-known. Husband to loving wife Priscilla (deceased) and father to Linda Brown and Nancy Schneider (deceased), with 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Past recipient of numerous awards for medical research and leadership, but cherished even more his deep-sea fishing battles.
