Sidney Wasserman Obituary
November 9, 1928 - December 4, 2015 Sidney Wasserman Sid aka "Waldo" was born in Chicago, IL in 1928 and died Friday, December 4th, of natural causes at the age of 87. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Dora and Benjamin Wasserman, and his first wife Evelyn. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Myrna Wasserman, his sister Estelle Barth, sons Barry and David Wasserman, daughter in law Hedy Wasserman, grandchildren Michelle and Joshua Wasserman, Brendan Murphy and nieces Minan McCann and Debra Wurzbacher. Sid and his young family moved to California and entered the car business, working his way up to owner of his own dealership. He was one of the original automobile dealers for Mazda in 1972. Eventually he added Oldsmobile to his line of cars. He continued his successful career for many years. In 1989, he sold his businesses and retired; yet he did not stop going to "the office" well after he left his chosen career. Sid split his yearly residence in both Newport Beach and Indian Wells, California. He has been a long standing member at both the Santa Ana Country Club and Desert Horizons Country Club; where he enjoyed years of golfing with friends. Additionally, he loved to travel and he and his wife would enjoy golf courses all over the world. Laughter, generosity, loyalty and deep friendship are what so many will remember about Sid. He was beloved by many and will be greatly missed by all. Funeral services will be held at Hillside Memorial Park. 6001 Centinela Avenue, Los Angeles, 90045, on Monday, December 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m.
