Solomon Irving (Zak) Zakheim Obituary
October 10, 1928 - March 6, 2016 Irving Zakheim, 87, died of natural causes at Cedar Sinai Medical Center on March 6, 2016. Irving was born in Brooklyn, New York to Herman and Anna Zakheim. He is survived by his sons: Dr. Myles Josef Zakheim and Robert M. Zakheim, his daughter-in-law Susan, his daughter-in-law-in-waiting, Dee, his grandchildren, Landon, Lindsay, Kyly, Morgan, his grandson-in- law Shawn, his grandsons- in-law to be Dan and Ryan as well as his sister Charlotte and her family. He moved to Los Angeles in 2004 after the passing of his beloved wife of 52 years, Zena. He leaves behind his love, Leslie Charney with whom he shared eleven wonderful years. He was an army veteran and served in Korea. Irving proudly represented the men's apparel industry for over sixty years and after retirement at age 70 he attended Kingsborough Community College, Brooklyn, where he received his Associate Degree. Very late in life he became an icon in the button industry. Irving (Zak) was a beloved friend, business associate and devoted father,brother, grandfather and soon to be great grandfather. His energy and love of life were endless and defined his charismatic personality. He will be greatly missed forever. Services will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 12:30 at Mount Sinai Memorial Park, Los Angeles, California
