Dr. Stephen George Denney, 60, died of an unknown medical crisis at his home in Manhattan Beach, California. He was a respected anesthesiologist who worked decades in various Los Angeles hospitals and clinics. He grew up in San Marino, California, went to San Marino High School and graduated from the USC School of Medicine. He was an international marathon runner, a small plane pilot, and an accomplished musician on drums, guitar, and piano. He loved cooking and art, spoke Spanish and was excited about learning Chinese to help put his patients at ease. He is survived and deeply missed by his sisters, Carol Denney of Berkeley, California, Susan Denney White of Ventura, California, his brother-in-law Dr. Chris White, of Ventura, California, his nephew Michael White of San Jose, California, and his niece Rachael White of Ashland, Oregon. A memorial gathering in his honor will be open to friends and family at his home, 939 1st Street, Manhattan Beach on Saturday, November 12, from 2:00 to 6:00 pm.
