Sue Diane Crausman Obituary
March 25, 1931 - December 31, 2017 Sue Diane Crausman passed away on December 31, 2017. Sue was the daughter of Esther and Maurice Blanke. Sue was born in Chicago, and moved to Los Angeles at the age of 14. After graduating Fairfax High School, she attended Los Angeles City College, where she majored in journalism. During her college career, she was editor of the college newspaper. After graduating college, Sue began a career at the Los Angeles Times where she ultimately became the editor of the Sunday Home Magazine. She then was offered to be the editor of Occidental Insurance Company's newspaper, of which she took. In 1959, Sue married Dr. Burt Crausman, and in 1961 and 1963, she gave birth to Jeffrey and David, respectively. Sue had many passions. She was an avid reader, always looking forward to the next Bestseller. Sue was an accomplished artist, whose works reflected her warmth and depth. She also loved to travel, and she and Burt adventured the world. It is said that Sue "never met a stranger," and thus formed close friendships that lasted a lifetime. Ten years ago her greatest gift of a grandson, Charles, arrived. They cherished each other, with a love infinite. Sue is survived by her husband of 58 years, Burt, her son Jeffrey, his wife Lynn, grandson Charles, and by her son David, his wife Vawn and granddaughter Maily. Services will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at Hillside Memorial Park, at 12 noon.
