Sylvia S. Miller Obituary
October 13, 1925 - December 9, 2017 Sylvia Miller loved the Dodgers and she saw them reach the World Series one more time, She passed away on December 9th peacefully with her 4 children by her side. She lived an amazing 92 years with her 8 grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews. She was a prolific artist, skilled calligrapher, and incredible at needlepoint. Sylvia created a warm, inviting, comfortable, and beautiful setting for family gatherings for the dozens of cousins, aunts and uncles that are part of our extended family. There was a place for everyone with endless art on the walls and on display and a kitchen open to all with lots of Lucky Charms and Pop Tarts. Born in Oak Park, Illinois, she moved to California in the '40s and settled in the San Fernando Valley, where she raised her family. She was a graduate of the American Academy of Art with an Associates Degree in Graphic Design and worked in the "Mad Men" era of advertising. She added style and color to everything she touched and was a pretty good bowler too. She is survived by her children Ross, Judi, Donald and Jonathan, and eight grandchildren, Jenna, Sofie, Jamie, Eliot, Jason, Madison, Miriam, and Sarah. We will miss her dearly and the world was a better and more beautiful place because of her.
