Sylvia Shapiro Obituary
January 23, 1922 - March 11, 2016 Sylvia Shapiro, 94, loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Friday night, March 11, 2016. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Sandy Terranova, and Nikki Cotton, sons-in law Roland Terranova and Chris Cotton, grandchildren, Angelica, Alex and Daniel Terranova, Chelsea and Brittany Cotton, who fondly called her Gramarini and Great Grandson Justin Terranova. She moved from Boston with her husband, Lee, to California to create a wonderful life for their family "to be." Sylvia's legacy was to live a life with your family at the center, be compassionate to all and help others through philanthropic endeavors. Sylvia was passionate about dance, tennis, Mah Jongg and Pan and all were that much more rewarding to her as she loved being with people and these were fun ways to create relationships. Her biggest joy was being with her family - caring for and witnessing their journeys, and encouraging and delighting in their accomplishments. Family and friends will be honoring and remembering Sylvia at her daughter's home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to City of Hope, 1500 E. Duarte Rd., Duarte, CA 91010-3000 or online at: cityofhope.org
