Thomas Mascari Obituary

Thomas ""Tom"" Anthony Mascari, 94 of Arroyo Grande, CA., peacefully passed away at home on Saturday, May 30, 2020.

Services will be private. A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.

He is survived by his loving sisters Mary & Connie and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly of 32 years, his parents Charles and Anna, siblings Lucille ""Tootsie"", Anna and Michael.

Born April 26, 1926 in Rochester, New York, he moved to Hollywood with his family at a young age. He started dancing as a teenager which sparked his interest in the entertainment business. Serving as a Private First Class in the Armed Forces, he was later discovered as an entertainer and moved to the USO to entertain the U.S. troops. After returning from the war, he started his career as a stuntman.

In his 60 year entertainment career, Tom had credits in various Movies ""Pictures"" as he called them, TV shows and Commercials. His resume of work, just to name a few, included 30 years as Jack Lemmon's stunt double, Ronald McDonald's acrobatic stunts, and the early Kool Aid Man. He was a very successful hand model for commercial and print work, from the hands of Allstate, passing Grey Poupon, pouring beer, pumping gas, changing spark plugs and waxing floors. He was once featured in a 1973 issue of the TV guide as a hand model. He was an accomplished producer and director of many productions.

Tom was also a pioneer of his generation when he created ""Tom Anthony's Precision Driving Team"" in Hollywood. Tom's team drove in various commercials and movies spanning over decades in the industry. They also entertained crowds driving mini Indy race cars in the Hollywood Christmas Parade. Some of today's top stunt coordinators got their start on Tom Anthony's Precision Driving Team with Tom as their mentor.

Tom and his wife Beverly loved to travel the world and did so, by Ship, Concord and RV.

Tom had a love for photography and loved to share his world travel photos when they returned.

He also had a passion for creating beautiful garden landscapes with his current garden featured in a local publication.

Tom was greatly loved and respected by his family, friends and industry peers and will be forever missed.

I painted Tom's house inside and out. I also built and designed a beautiful deck at his home in upper Arroyo Grande Ca. We were great friends

Tom was my mother's cousin (Mary D'Amore Teller) and I only met him and Beverly once, 1984 ?, when they came to visit my mother when we lived on the Vineyard. They were very nice and we had a fun time, lots of stories! May they both rest in peace

Tom was truly gentleman and wonderful person. I remember him and his wife, Beverly with great fondness. I worked for them in the 80s and quickly became good friends. We need more people like them in this world. They are together again. May they both rest in peace.
