October 7, 1915 - April 7, 2016 Thomas Best was born on October 7, 1915 and peacefully made his transition on April 7, 2016 at his home of 70 years in West Los Angeles from natural causes, he was 100 years old. Tom was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and immigrated to New York in 1927. He served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 8th Air Force during WWII as a navigator bombardier, making more than 30 missions over Germany and received the Distinguished Flying Cross. He is the surviving husband of his beloved Frances Clark Best, and the cherished father of William, Robert, Paul, Laurence Best and Janet Best Page. He was predeceased by his treasured grand-daughter, Felice Lauren Best Webber, and enjoyed the happiness brought to him by seven other grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a true gentleman and honorable man who was loved by all who knew him. His request to have a burial at sea will be honored in a private service.
