Thomas John Geismann Obituary
January 1926 - February 2017 Tom was born in Evanston, Ill. He attended Catholic school on Chicago's North Side where he received a scholarship for high school and college at Mt. Carmel, Roman Catholic Religious Order in Niagara, Canada. He returned to Chicago and worked for the telephone company until joining the Army Signal Corps in 1942, serving fourteen plus months of active duty. He was stationed at Camp Cooke, CA. He returned to his job at the phone company, requested and received a transfer to San Diego. He had three children with his wife Dorothy. Tom decided to make a career change and went into equipment leasing for a national company. He became a regional vice president in charge of offices in Dallas, Seattle, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Tom married Nonie Bromiley in 1976. They had residences in Sherman Oaks and Dana Point. Tom loved to sail his "Sunshine." They were members of the Dana Point Yacht Club and enjoyed entertaining there on weekends. Tom, always the student, continued his education taking classes in Spanish, computer and art history; he also played senior softball until 3 years ago. He had successful surgery for adult onset hydrocephalus in 2001. He met with many pre-surgery candidates and spouses explaining his experience. Nonie and Tom moved to University Village, Thousand Oaks in 2009. He is survived by his children Mary Elizabeth Storm, Richard Geismann and his wife Nonie. His son Tom, Jr. passed in Dec. 2015. He had five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Memorial service for Tom will be at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, North Hollywood, on March 6th at 10am. In liew of flowers, contributions to will be appreciated.
